How To Purchase Pictures?
 Finnish

Lue sama suomeksi!

I became interested in photography at the age of 15 and bought my first camera, an Olympus compact. But due to my poor financial status my hobby never really took off until I went to university. At the start I actually rekindled my hobby as a way to produce material for my other artistic pursuits, i.e. drawing and painting. Though I soon realised that my biggest passion lay in photography itself.

Quite early on I started to capture images of the city, namely Tampere, Finland. Still my progression as a photographer was quite slow, as I was very stingy in using film and capturing every interesting image I saw.

At the advent of digital photography I made a decision that I'd only acquire a digital camera when I could afford one that would have the usability and functions of my film SLR (Canon EOS 300). As it happened it was Canon who first introduced a consumer-priced digital SLR, EOS 300D. After some thought I decided to fit the camera to my meager budget -and haven't regretted the decision once!

At that point I was studying in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, in England. From the moment go I took the camera almost everywhere I went and experimented freely with what the camera had to offer. Due to living in the centre of a largeish city I aimed my potential, as well as my camera, to cityscapes. Since then I've extended my photo portfolio to include thousands of pictures of nature, man made artefacts and people.
