Welcome to this short tour of my gallery! I'll be showing you some of my favourite pictures I have in various galleries.

This first picture is from the Earth, Sea and Sky Gallery and was taken one early summer morning in Hämeenlinna, Finland. At the time I had the habit of waking just before sunrise to be able to be out and about to catch the first rays of sunlight. It took quite a bit of coffee and determination!

The high contrast between a radiant morning sky and a subtly lit clearing requires a bit of working around, so I used a graduated neutral density filter to darken the skies. Had I taken this picture yesterday I probably would have taken two exposures, one with the correct exposure for the sky and one for the clearing and blended them in Photoshop™, as it creates a more realistic look.
